Arrr!
Well, I should be in bed sleeping, but I'm not. I decided to start an art project that I had to finish once I started. It's currently baking right now, but as soon as it's done I'll take a picture and post it. Anyway, I was going to save this for "tomorrow" (which is technically today) but since I'm up I might as well.
Ok, so I really needed a hair cut. I hadn't had a trim in probably a year. So, I mosey on down to Wal-Mart and stroll into the wanna-be salon. I'm told it will be an hour wait. That was cool with me since I had some shopping to do. An hour later I pay for my stuff, put it in my car then go back to the salon to wait my turn, which took a very long time still. Why? I'll tell you why. There was one hairdresser (accompanied by her three children). So she has her kids at work. Who cares. What I cared about was the family a 20 who decided to get all their kids' hair cut! Alright, whatever. So, I wait and when it's finally my turn I'm just like, "I need a shampoo and a cut." So, she shampoos me, combs my hair then asks me what I want. I tell her shoulder length, no layers, and angled longer in the front. So, I let her go to town while she tells me about how she's fighting to keep her son's daughter because the baby's mom is "locked up" because she walks the streets! AND she's 15. I'm so not lying. Well, when she's done I notice it's a little shorter than I wanted but nothing too serious. Whatever, it'll grow back. Or so I thought. By the time I got home my hair was dry. I look it the mirror and gasp. My hair is just a tad longer than chin length in the front and like 3 or 4 inches long in the back. WHAT THE HELL? You call that shoulder length!? Needless to say, I'm not extraordinarily happy about that. But, my hair will grow back. Luckily it grows pretty quickly. I think it's safe to say that I have no split ends.
So, I'm nearing the end of my current class. I have started to work on my final project. This is what I have come up with so far. Not that anyone is thinking it... but please don't steal my artwork. If you really like this line art and want to color it, ask permission first. If I say yes, I expect credit. I will probably link to you and expect linkage in return. M'kay?
Alrighty, my other project has finished baking and is now cool enough to handle. First of all let me say, I am not a sculptor. This is my first sculpture EVER (besides whatever I might have made as a kid). It's my first serious work and it's not very good. It turned out better than I expected, but not as good as what I wanted. I see several things that should be different: Her eyes are just weird, her nose looks bulbous from the front even though it's not, and her ears are too big. The eyes were really hard. I had no idea how to go about them. I'm really irked that her nose looks so huge from the front and normal from the side. It doesn't look that big IRL. Anyway, with some practice and some real tools I may get better. This took me probably 4 hours to slap together. Behold!
The frontal view looks so much better IRL Grrr!!! Ciao everybody.
